Schweighofer in Envision’s Pathways to STEM

This summer, Cohen Schweighofer from Honesdale, PA will join outstanding students from across the nation to take part in a unique academic and career-oriented development experience, NYLF Pathways to STEM, at Villanova University in Philadelphia, PA.

NYLF Pathways to STEM is one of the Envision by WorldStrides family of programs
(www.envisionexperience.com) that enable students to explore their interests and experience learning beyond the classroom.

Cohen was nominated by his fourth-grade math and science teacher for his exceptional abilities in the
classroom, but even more so his ability to connect with ‘the bigger picture’ and apply that knowledge to the
outside world. Outside of school, Cohen enjoys playing soccer with Honesdale Soccer Club, basketball with
Honesdale’s Biddy Basketball Association, and participating in agility & strength training at Balance
Gymnastics. He plays saxophone in the 5 th grade school band. Hunting, fishing, and four-wheeler riding are
where you can find him outdoors.

With his natural curiosity, Cohen is looking forward to the activities planned during the NYLF Pathways to
STEM program, particularly building and programming robots, the biology dissection lab, and spending the
week surrounded by others who share his interests.

wonderful opportunity for ambitious young students to explore their interests outside the classroom and
discover how to innovate and think creatively through hands-on immersive learning. Our students are
challenged with real-world simulations and problems, working together to develop unique solutions and
projects to bring life to their studies and career interests.”
