Human Resources Foundation

The Human Resources Foundation is offering eight $1,000.00 scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the Susquehanna, Wayne, Pike, and Monroe County School Districts who are entering college for the 2026 academic year.

The student will be planning to pursue a career in Human Services, Health Care, Vocational Career, Social Work, or Special Education. Preference will be given to individuals who are looking to pursue human services, social work, educational, or health/clinical career paths that work directly with individuals with disabilities.

In addition to the online application, a transcript and any relevant test scores are requested.

Catherine Collins Memorial Nursing Scholarship

The family of Catherine Collins offers a scholarship for students in our local area wishing to pursue a career in nursing. Details are in the link below.

The Vanessa Joy Van Gorder Memorial Scholarship

The Vanessa Van Gorder Memorial Scholarship was established in 2015 in memory of Vanessa, who was a recent graduate of West Chester University. 

This $2,500 scholarship is open to high school seniors planning to pursue a career in education or environmental studies, and will be awarded to a student in one of the nine school districts in the Upper Delaware River region in PA and NY.

To apply:
1 - complete an application 
2 - request a transcript from Mrs. Sullivan via the announcement app on your iPad 
3 - request two student assessments forms (available at the link below) or letters of recommendation. 
NOTE: Assessments should be emailed to Mrs. Davoli directly, NOT provided to the student.  Teachers should include "Van Gorder Application Assessment: STUDENT NAME" in their email subject line.

All materials will be collected by Mrs. Davoli and submitted on your behalf.

Wayne Highlands Education Association Scholarship

This scholarship is open to students in WHSD who are pursuing a four-year degree in education. Two scholarships will be awarded this year.

Julia Yale Weber Scholarship

Julia Yale Weber was a dedicated and inspiring teacher of English at Honesdale Junior/Senior High School from the 1950s to the 1970s who set high standards for her students. Each year since 1991, a scholarship has been awarded in memory of Julia Yale Weber to a graduating senior who will pursue a career in teaching. The recipient of this scholarship is to be a worthy student with (1) love of learning, (2) commitment to a teaching career in elementary, secondary or higher education, and (3) admision to a four-year college or university. Students must complete and submit the General Scholarship Application and deliver to Mrs. Davoli.

Award amount: Two $3,000.00
