Dr. Mort Malkin Peace Scholarship

The Green Party of Wayne County is sponsoring The Mort Malkin Peace Scholarship in memory of Mort Malkin.  Mort was a peace activist, author, and fitness expert and a member of The Green Party of Wayne County for many years.

The scholarship in the amount of $250.00 will be awarded to a student pursuing a degree in Peace Studies or a related field.

The application is in the form of an essay where the student will demonstrate a commitment to healing division between diverse groups and solving problems through non violent means. The essay will be a minimum of 250 words and should be double spaced.

There are many universities in the United States offering degrees in Peace Studies including several in Pennsylvania.  If an applicant is not seeking a degree specifically in Peace Studies, they should explain how their chosen field of study is related to the above.
